The colour of Casino Chips

During a up to date visit to the casino, I USED TO BE playing blackjack when a person approached the table and sat down. He placed a five-dollar chip within the betting circle and waited for his cards. The dealer checked out him and them pointed to the golf green table limit sign and told him, "Sir, this isn't a five dollar table."

He said, "Oh, I DID NOT know." He then picked up his stack of red chips and walked away. He may have saved himself from an embarrassing situation if he had read the table limit sign before sitting right down to play. All table games within the casinos have a placard at the table listing the minimum bet for that game. Normally you do not also have to read the sign. All it's important to do is take a look at the colour.

Many casinos color-code their table game signs to check the denomination of chip for the minimum bet for that table. So all you need to do is take a look at the colour of the sign. The colours of the chips utilized in nearly all of casinos are the similar. The denominations of the colours are:

White or Blue chips are one dollar. Red chips are five dollars and are called nickels. Green chips are twenty-five dollars and are called quarters. Black chips are 100 dollars. Purple Chips are dollars and are called Barneys. Orange chips are 1000 dollars and are called pumpkins.

About five years ago I read a narrative a couple of casino in Las Vegas that issued one dollar chips that were black in color. This created quite a stir amongst the opposite casinos who've $100 chips which are black. There have been concerns that scam artists would mix a few of these in with the legitimate chips. The pressure was placed on and the casino in question quickly recalled the only dollar black chips.

You may occasionally encounter a unique color for the dollar chips but red and green are the criteria in most casinos. The rationale that the casino uses different color chips is to make it easy for the dealers, pit personnel and surveillance cameras to figure out how much a player is betting.

By matching the colour of the chips with the table signs it makes it easy to inform the minimum bet for a table with only a quick glance. A red sign would denote a five-dollar table and a green sign would let you know that the minimum bet is twenty-five dollars. This makes it convenient for the players. There are some tables that experience minimums that do not correspond to chip colors similar to $10 and $15 games. All it's important to do is note which color sign the casino you're visiting uses. Then bring it to mind for the following time. The casinos in Connecticut use yellow for ten-dollar tables and orange for fifteen-dollar tables.

Some casinos will have the similar color sign for all table minimums. If so it is important to read them before sitting down. But for many of all of them it is important to do is search for the colour of your choice, have a seat and place your bet.
