Floyd Mayweather is understood for making big sports bets but a $10 million wager at the Super Bowl could be his biggest bet yet.

Laceup Boxing started the Mayweather rumors swirling on Monday once they tweeted a photograph of Mayweather next to an enormous stack of cash with the next Tweet:

"BREAKING: @FloydMayweather reportedly bets $10.4 million on Denver Broncos to win the #SuperBowl."

Initial reports looked as if it would point to the truth that the bet may well be the true deal -- claiming that some Vegas bookies had confirmed that Mayweather really did plunk the bet down -- but other reports suggested that the rumored bet might never have happened.

Mayweather's massage therapist Doralie Medina doused cold water at the rumors, claiming that it wasn't true in any respect. Mayweather himself also never Tweeted concerning the bet or mentioned it at all, that's pretty odd as Mayweather is not the shy type and has Tweeted a few of his big bets himself.

It wouldn't be the primary time Mayweather had bet greater than $1 million on a game but it would be his biggest bet by far. He was rumored to have bet nearly $6 million at the Miami Heat to overcome the Indiana Pacers in Game 7 of the 2013 NBA finals -- a raffle that will have paid off to the tune of a couple of $6.5 million profit -- but that bet also was never officially confirmed.

The logistics of having down a $10 million+ bet would even be difficult, even in Las Vegas as most sportsbooks have caps at the maximum size bet they'll take. Mayweather would have likely needed to spread his wagers at the Broncos around at various sportsbooks, which might make it hard to maintain his big action under wraps.

Mayweather has Tweeted lots of his past bets but most were somewhat smaller and involved thousands and thousands of greenbacks rather than millions. Mayweather also had a habit of only posting winning tickets, causing some to questions even if he was conveniently ignoring a few of his big losing bets.
