In poker your outs are the unseen cards with a view to complete or improve your hand to make it the winning hand. Each additional card or "Out" will improve your percentage of surviving the hand and popping out a winner.

The Odds chart below shows the proportion and odds of creating your hand in line with your choice of outs.

You will find which you can easily remember among the commonest situations for outs corresponding to the four flush or straight draw but there should be a neater way than memorizing the figures for each selection of outs. The good news is that there's a option to get an excellent estimation of the odds.

The Rule of 4 -Two.

The rule of four-two, as I LOVE to name it, is a neater approach to figure the percentages for any situation where you understand your outs. It's not completely accurate however it provides you with a handy guide a rough "ballpark" figure of your chances for creating a hand. Here's the way it works.

With two cards to return after the flop you multiply your selection of outs by four. With one card to come back after the turn, you multiply your selection of outs by two. This may provide you with a handy guide a rough figure to work with. If in case you have a four-card flush after the flop you have got nine outs. With two cards to come, you multiply the nine by four and also you get 36 percent chance of constructing the flush. The chart shows the actual odds at 35 percent. With one card to come back you multiply nine by two and get 18 percent. The chart shows that the real figure is 19.6. It isn't completely accurate nevertheless it is pretty close, and it's a very simple calculation to do for your head.

In January 2000, I BEGAN to be told the right way to play Texas Hold'em. I wrote about my experiences in a chain of article in this site. I'VE since written a book titled "From the Kitchen to the Cardroom- Get the brink at Low Limit Texas Hold'em" (January 2003 Bonus Books Inc.) The guideline of 4 - Two above was reprinted from that book. To reserve an autographed copy or to check prices Click the links below or at the side bar.
