According to the Ohio Casino Control Commission, Hollywood Casino Cleveland got whacked with $195,000 in fines for 2 gaming code violations this year. Its sister property, Hollywood Casino Toledo picked up it's first notice of gaming violations for using slot machines that weren't been verified or sealed by the commission and for running gaming tables without a video surveillance.

I guess the Hollywood group knows best, do exactly what they would like and spot what happens. The newest gaff ended in a proposed $30,000 settlement. The administration of table games like blackjack, craps and roulette does take a large number of manpower. I ASSUME that's one cause of the rise in electronic casino table games which can be becoming more sophisticated and therefore a lot more fun. After all those must have video surveillance too.

I remember in Reno about TWENTY YEARS ago the Cal-Neva casino finally broke down and put surveillance cameras of their low-limit pit at the third-floor. Apparently for a while the games (quarter craps, 10-cent roulette, $2 blackjack) were run with a single floorman/boxman and no cameras. I DO NOT understand how many of us knew, but there have been a couple of dealers who made sure their boyfriend/girlfriend or husband/wife came by to play a couple of hands once they caught an hour-stint within the small pit. The club could probably have paid for the brand new cameras with what they lost per week or two! Ah well, live and learn.
