The Random Number Generator (RNG) is the brains of the slot machine. While most player know that there's a computer chip picking the numbers, they don't fully know how it really works and this will result in one of the crucial many myths and misconceptions a couple of slot machine. Some of the common myths is that a machine has a cycle that may let a player know when it's because of hit. Many “Snake Oil Salesmen” will attempt to sell you a system for doing just that. Save your money it can’t be done.

Inside the slot machine is a microprocessor very similar to the only in your house computer. As opposed to running Word or Excel, it runs a unique program, the RNG, that generates numbers to correspond to the symbols at the reel of the slot machine.

You might say that the RNG is in perpetual motion. So long as there's power to the machine it's constantly selecting random numbers every millisecond. The RNG generates a price between 0 and four billion (approx number) that is then translated into s specific set of numbers to correspond to the symbols at the reels. The result of every spin is dependent upon the number selected by the RNG. This number is selected while you hit the spin button or deposit a coin.

The RNG uses a formula referred to as an algorithm that is a sequence of instructions for generating the numbers. The scope of that is beyond most of our mathematical knowledge but will also be checked for accuracy. That is done by the Casino Control Board and other testing laboratories to ensure that this system performs because it should so the player might not be cheated.

While all of this may increasingly sound reasonable it still doesn't give the layman a basic understanding about how the RNG works. I WANT to check out to give an explanation for it in a simplified manner that I FEEL most people can relate to. Although this isn't precisely how the RNG operates it's going to come up with a basic understanding of the rules of ways the winning spins are determined.

Reel type slot machines have various spaces on each reel that contain an emblem or blank. These are refereed to because the physical stops. Among the old mechanical machines had reels that would hold 20 symbols while the trendy slots have reels with 22 physical stops. The micro processing technology allows the brand new machines in an effort to accommodate numerous “Virtual stops” which I CAN explain in a future article.

For this example, let’s simplify things and picture that there are just 10 stops on each reel. With 10 stops there may also be 1,000 different combinations. We get this number by multiplying the collection of symbols on each reel. (10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000) The 1,000 combinations that may be attained are referred to as a cycle and that is the word that usually confuses a player into thinking that the machine has cycles of winning and losing.

The percentages of a 3 number combination being picked are one in one thousand. Theoretically if you happen to play 1,000 spins you need to see each of those number combinations once. However everyone knows that this isn't the case. Should you played 1,000,000 spins you can see that the numbers would even out to be toward the real probability. That is very similar to flipping a coin 100 times. Although the chances are 50 -50 you might be unlikely to peer 50 heads and 50 tails after 100 spins.

A lot of you've seen the Daily pick 3 lottery drawing. They have got three glass bowls or drums each containing ten balls numbered 0 -9. The balls are mixed up and when the highest is lifted a ball pops up the tube showing you the primary number. That is repeated for the second one and third number to present you a 3 digit winning combination.

On the following page I WILL BE ABLE TO relate this to the slot machine RNG.
