La noria “High Roller” ya gira en Las Vegas

Ayer se inauguró la noria de observación más alta del mundo, ubicada en el último centro lúdico de la Ciudad del Pecado: The LINQ.

Ayer por la tarde, cuando en la costa oeste de Estados Unidos se rondaba el mediodía, se abría la cinta inaugural de la noria de observación más alta del mundo, la “High Roller”.

Esta nueva noria, ubicada entre los casinos Harrah’s, Imperial Palace y Flamingo (todos ellos pertenecientes a Ceasars Entertainment), e incrustada dentro del nuevo centro lúdico y comercial bautizado como The LINQ, mide 167,6 metros, y tiene un diámetro de 158,5 metros. Es notablemente más alta que el London Eye de Londres (135 metros), y supera por poco la noria más alta hasta el momento, el Singapore Flyer de 164,8 metros.

“The High Roller” espera llegar a un nuevo reclamo para los millones de turistas que a lo largo del año pasan unos días en Las Vegas, y prueba de ello se pudo ver ayer mismo. Las colas para ser de los primeros en montar en esta nueva noria fueron larguísimas, sin importar el precio, que dependiendo para quién, puede resultar un tanto excesivo, o apenas una minucia.

Tal como vemos en la página web de The LINQ, el precio por un viaje sencillo con luz diurna es de 24,95$, mientras este se incrementa en 10$ (34,95$) si queremos observar el skyline de Las Vegas sin la luz del Sol.

Los propietarios de este nuevo centro lúdico, han editado un vídeo promocional, en el que podemos ver cómo este proyecto fue creciendo a lo largo de los meses, hasta llegar a lo que es hoy en día.

El nuevo campeón del EPT de Barcelona redondea una temporada de lujo haciéndose con la victoria del torneo online más importante en lo que va de año.

Ayer lunes tuvo lugar el día 2 del torneo online más importante de 2014 hasta la fecha, el WCOOP Challenge Main Event de 2.100$ de buy-in, en el cual la participación ascendió a 1.624 jugadores.

De todos ellos, 80 se clasificaron para la jornada definitiva, en busca de los 532.824$ que quedaban reservados para el ganador. Uno de ellos, “SinKarma”, era español, quien llegaba a este día 2 con un stack ligeramente inferior a la media del torneo.

El granadino no consiguió meterse en la pomada en ningún momento. A poco de reanudar la acción, “SinKarma” perdía un bote importante en guerra de ciegas, que le dejaba con solo un movimiento posible: push o fold.

La primera ocasión en la que la mano le llegó limpia hasta la ciega pequeña, nuestro paisano empujaba sus ocho ciegas con QJ, pero “Belabacsi” en la ciega grande no dudaba en pagar con A2, mano que acabó eliminándole en un board A466A. De esta forma, “SinKarma” caía eliminado en el puesto 58º con un premio de 7.795$.

A partir de este momento, el interés del torneo se centraba en ver quién conseguía hacerse con este premio tan importante, por encima del medio millón de dólares.

Los mexicanos Angel Guillén (44º) y JC Alvarado (40º) cayeron por el camino llevándose idénticos premios (9.419$), sin embargo, la mesa final no estuvo carente de nombres conocidos. Bryn Kenney y Tom Middleton “hitthehole” llegaban a los nueve últimos puestos con las espadas en todo lo alto.

Pero a Bryn las cosas no se le tardaron en torcer. Apenas un par de manos posterior que se encendieran las luces, el americano recibía un “cooler” en guerra de ciegas. Sus TT se topaban con los KK de “bboooommmmmm”, dejando al estadounidense en una situación muy comprometida, mientras que el israelí se metía de lleno en el torneo.

Tanto fue así que Bryn caería eliminado en novena posición, mientras que “bboooommmmmmm” se plantaba nada menos que en el heads-up final, en el cual se mediría a Tom Middleton “hitthehole”, ganador del último EPT de Barcelona.

Llegados a este punto, ambos jugadores decidieron parar el reloj y discutir un pacto para repartir de forma algo más equitativa los primeros premios. Fue entonces cuando el inglés demostró tener más tablas en este tipo de situaciones.

El reparto por ICM que el moderador propuso fue el próximo: 449.966$ para “hitthehole” y 432.627$ para “bboooommmmmm”, dejando 40.000$ para el ganador del HU. Pero el inglés quería más…

Con este pequeño “tira y afloja” solucionado, los dos protagonistas pugnaron durante pocos minutos más por los 40.000$ que quedaban en juego. Éstos también fueron a parar a manos del inglés, redondeando su compensación económica hasta el medio millón de dólares que se embolsó tras ganar esta mano, la que desequilibró la balanza a su favor, y dejó al israelí al borde del KO.

Como es de imaginar, éste se convierte en el mayor pinchazo online en la carrera del jugador inglés, si bien es cierto que ya contaba con bastantes resultados de mérito, como pudiera ser una victoria en el Sunday 500 el pasado mes de septiembre, donde se embolsó casi 90.000$.

His lawsuit claims that he was slurring his words, constantly dropping chips, and that he was unable to set his own hands at pai gow or tell different chips from each other -- all usual signs that somebody can have had a couple of too many adult beverages.Â

Complicating his claims slightly is the truth that he stayed on the town but moved over to the Hard Rock Casino to continue gambling, with the Downtown Grand actually calling the Hard Rock to cause them to conscious about the debt that Johnson had already rung up.

Johnson's ambitious lawsuit not just seeks to have the debt wiped away entirely but may be soliciting for punitive damages for the Downtown Grand considering they've harmed his reputation and acted inappropriately.

24 year-old Joey Kadmiri apparently didn't heed that warning recently in Las Vegas, as he allegedly snuck backstage of the Aussie-themed all-male strip show with plans to steal a few of their makeup and costumes.
